Poem - I Await the Day

Fair Maiden,
Whose eyes sparkle greater than
The brightest star on high,
And whose entire being
Proves that true beauty
Can not lie,
I await the day,
When I may
Feel the complete comfort
And warmth of one
So astonishing as thee,
Before my youth and patience
Does pass me by.
I am but a simple man,
Whose eyes have become duller
With each experience and test,
And whose internal flame
Has been all but smothered
By my continuing distress.
But I hope and pray,
That a manifestation may,
Bring ecstatic delight
And wonderment to one such as me,
Before I settle down
For an eternal rest.
